Project Overview
Human beings can often become prisoners of their own minds. At times this confinement is conscious, however many times there it manifests itself unconsciously in the form of implicit bias. Thought confinement is an invisible, yet powerful force that can prevent people from staying open to new perspectives, rob people of their own free thought and feeling, and hold people back from fully experiencing life in all of its complexity. During this project, you will have an opportunity to explore ways in which society in general, and the media in particular, perpetuates psychic prisons that result in thought confinement, then learn ways to free your mind and help others to do the same!
Some of Our Objectives
Design and build a Social Justice Escape Room that allows participants to experience puzzles/dilemmas that challenge their implicit bias
|
Design and create various forms of media that challenge explicit bias (news article, commercials, visual art, digital art, music, poetry, etc.)
