A lot has changed. The OASIS has been one of the biggest advancements, but it is also one of the biggest pitfalls. As the easter egg hunt is becoming more and more popular the danger of everyone who knows about the copper key, and the first gate ever increases. So far all of the five first gunters to find the first key have been all contacted Wade or Parzival being the only one to actually respond as a “joke” had his discussion end with his family killed. They ended up having a meeting of the “High Five” in The Basement, and they talked about the dangers. Now we are left here with all of these cliffhanger’s as to what will happen next will they cooperate, probably not.
This book has the main theme of adventure as “The Hunt” is a big almost creepy “game.” Real life has the same idea as to the point of adventure and creativity are what drive society today. We live in a time where technology is taking over our everyday and almost everyone uses one piece of technology every day be it there phone or a computer or even a TV. No matter who you are you have most likely used an electronic device in out day and age. Although I have not finished my book yet because it is 600 pages, and I haven't had enough time. I have had enough time to realize that this book is definitely a huge recommend. I would 100% tell a friend about it, and if you haven't read it you should because it could very possibly bee our cool, but still depressing future.

I am so excited that I have kept reading this book. It is one that is constantly action packed. Some things that have changed are firstly Parzival has finally found the copper key, and best of all the chapter after he opened the gate. Art3mis is also the only other person on the scoreboard that is only 1,000 points behind because she was second to find the copper key she didn’t get that 1,000 point bonus. This whole section has left Ache in the dust because he doesn't know what is happening he just see’s Parzival on the scoreboard, and is questioning what he has been up to.
This book reminds me of really any other treasure hunting game. Although it is in V.R. it is still something that is for personal gain, and I am curious to see how the money is spent. This book also has a movie that was made for it, and I think that it is very different because not only has he gotten the keys differently so far, but the whole beginning talking of him going to school, and his home life wasn’t even included in the movie. I think that this book, and the world today have a lot of similarities, because not only is the world slowly heading to this future, but it is very possible except for the Haptic Gloves which make things in the virtual reality feel real. This not only would be a break in virtual physics, but it would defy reality and actual physics too. Overall this would be an awesome technological advancement that I wouldn’t bet on seeing in the near future in not ever. The structure of the government in this book on the other hand hasn’t been touched on much as there is this big rave for the OASIS that everyone is hopping on in order to not think of those things. All we know is that crime is at an all time high, nothing different from our life today (except a lot worse in the book as in the book there aren't any police officers mentioned). As for a normal person, you pretty much live in the OASIS besides eating and sleeping there is no reason not to. It is a very fun, but depressing reality that may one day come true.
“High School Student’s Ingenious Solution Could Save Bees From Drinking Poisonous Water” Good News Network April 5, 2018 Article by: McKinley Corbley A student by the name of Derek Woo invented a way to save bee’s. It is about how he found a way to keep chemicals out of water. All of those chemicals come from plants and they are mostly from farmers.
This is an event where a student fixed the problem of bees dying from chemicals in the soil. That is because the chemicals in the soil goes into the plant, and onto the leaves where the bees drink from. This is something that has been a problem for a while I think that it is an issue that is well overdue. Not only is this an amazing thing, but this was all done by a single high school student. He used a type of charcoal called biochar. Biochar is able to absorb all of those bad chemicals and best of all it is safe for the environment. This all happened in a school called “Greenwich High School” in Connecticut. This event is an amazing step in science. This was very needed because of the fact that bees are dying out, and there will need to be a solution considering that farmers aren’t very worried about the environment when using pesticides. This on the other hand was able to solve the problem, and have no negative affect for the farmers. My personal opinion on this event is that it is amazing what school can do. No matter where you go there will always be one person against the current schooling system This shows that at least one part of it allows students to make changes that are life changing for humans, and our fellow animals. I think we can all agree that we are taking one step backward, but the two steps forward are what matter. LA Times
January 17 2018 "New California' is actually an old-school idea for breaking up the state" Authored by Abby Hamblin This article is about New California which ¨would exclude parts of California along the coastline from Orange County north to Napa County; New California would include all other parts of California, including San Diego County, leaving the coastal stretch as California.¨ This is an event that is in an act to separate ¨New California, from the old.¨ This event is about how ¨New California¨ is irritated about many consequences of being a part of California. Although congress said: "New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress." which as the article says state lawmakers would need to vote on the separation in order for it to take place. So in other words is it a long shot. This all takes place in California, and this occurred late 2017, and early 2018. Although it may seem impossible they felt that it was worth a try. Ever since the start there has been a divide in California, I think that now it has just finally made them have to pay consequences when they aren’t even a part of the “problem.” They see that the south western part of the state is growing so big and popular, and there taxes are rising because of the face they are in the same state. Ever since the start of The United States “California” the southern part has always been more popular. That is mostly because of Mexico, but also because of the welcoming atmosphere and the very liberal stance. I think that the northern part of California has always been very conservative, and it is like a totally different state. I feel that although it may seem like a long shot at the end of the day it is a possibility and maybe even a reality. I think that it is a change that is very needed, but at the same time “New California” does want a lot of land, and lawmakers most likely won't give it up on either side of the argument. *Explain for Each* Chapter 8: "Not Marble, nor the Gilded Monuments" This chapter talks about how Shakespeare isn't perfect or all that bad. I found this chapter very interesting. It talks about how he had no sympathy for the poor. Also it talked about how his lack of religion also changed a lot of his thinking from others back then. What I enjoyed most about this chapter was how Shakespeare was an imperfect person, as we all are. He was no where near an idol, but yet his idea on lifestyle was so appealing that it stuck. I also found it very weird that he had no religion, as this was just after globalism so it was hard to have "free" views on religion. Chapter 9: "A King of Infinite Space" This chapter talked about what life would be like without Shakespeare. It goes on to say, what if he was just another one of those lost children, with a nameless grave. Then it talks about skulls, and how different they are now. Back then they were a way to scare people, but now they signify remembrance of death, and kind of a slap in the face saying, "You know you can die right?" All of this is because of Shakespeare. Over all this chapter was my favorite. That is because it is so Interesting. I wonder if we would even have a democracy if Shakespeare didn't tell people that they cared in the world. On the other hand due to people being people it most likely would have happened eventually, because there are a finite amount of genes (although massive). I think that if it wasn't him it would have happened eventually, thats if it hadn't happened before him, but he died? There are so many questions we can have, and all are amazing points. Chapter 10: "To Be or Not to Be" this chapter talks about how any of the previous chapters can help you to understand that Shakespeare is one of the most important figures in history if not the most. This chapter goes on to sat that no other writer has changed English so much. Then it talks about "Who is Shakespeare?" This chapter gave me goose bumps, because that question can't be answered. You can make up things, but bottom line is that we don't even know when he was born, how long he lived, or even if Shakespeare even did these things, although his name was on the papers. Overall this book is a defiant recommend and an amazing book. I will be commenting on Elisabeth's, and Alex's Blog's. What was explained in this chapter? *Explain for Each* Chapter 6: "To Hold Up A Mirror To Nature" This was a very interesting chapter about how Shakespeare alone made our environment what it is. To me this chapter was very confusing, but the main point that I got was that Shakespeare while knowing as much as us changed the way we live today. I found it amazing how one person with just one play can change how life is. It also brings out how in a lot of his plays the people think that they are invincible. I found this chapter one of the hardest to understand. I feel that it can be interpreted in many different ways. Chapter 7: "Give Me My Robe, Put On My Crown" This chapter talks about how Shakespeare in politics is very interesting. It is very weird how he wasn't involved in politics, but yet most politicians can quote a line or two from Shakespeare's plays. It also talks about how just because you know Shakespeare doesn't make you good. I will touch on that in the next paragraph. Overall this chapter shows how not only is Shakespeare all sunshine, and rainbows, but he is actually very inappropriate in his writings. I found it interesting, and kind of scary how in 1936 Hitler showed Shakespeare's plays more than any other time period. Also how communists rose him up to be seen a a great thinker. This chapter shows how Hitler isn't only an idol to the "Common People", but because of some of the things he said that for example discriminated the Jews was seen by people who aren't seen as a Hero. I will be commenting on Elisabeth's and Alex's Dp's. What was explained in this chapter? What about this chapter was interesting to you?
*Explain for Each* Chapter 4: "Flaming Youth" The chapter mainly focused on the play "Romeo and Juliet." It explained how back then when their was a female role it was played by a male, because women weren't able to act in plays. Instead of making children a person who rises above the corrupt world he portrayed them as curious, just as much as the adults. This chapter was very interesting it shared about the youth and how they are very unique i.e. How they are so beautiful, but yet can't admit it. It also talks about hamlet and how in hamlet when Ophelia dies off stage it is very unclear. This allowed many speculations to be made. Some say that she drowned, some in the wilderness, and some in her own home. I found this very interesting. Chapter 5: "All Honorable Men" This chapter was very interesting because it talked about how the assassination of Abraham Lincoln was like Julius Cesar. It goes on to explain this more and more in detail. The whole point was to show that all of the people who wanted change in history were in some way hated. Sometimes even to the extreme. What I found interesting is how not only did Shakespeare invent the word "assassination," but he basically staged the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. We could say that without Shakespeare he wouldn't have died. Although Shakespeare wasn't alive he was the one that put these thoughts in our head. I will be commenting on Elisabeth's, and Alex's Blog's. What was explained in this chapter? What about this chapter was interesting to you?
*Explain for each chapter. Chapter 1 "The fortunes of moor": This chapter explained how Shakespeare through his written book "Othello" has basically removed fears. It also explained how he was able to change our view on race, and how even an extremely popular "hero" like Shakespeare can be racist. He goes on and on about racism and how extreme Shakespeare was. I think that although interesting this is the most boring chapter in the book. Overall this chapter was interesting because of the fact that it showed how influential Shakespeare was. This chapter also touched on how some of his played such as "Othello" shouldn't be taught in a School, and may be too inappropriate to be taught in History class. Chapter 2 "Words, Words, Words": This chapter explained how Shakespeare has changed the English language for the better. The chapter explains the complexity of making words that no only sound pleasing, but words that logically make since. The author explained how he was and extremely literate person for his time, and maybe the most literate. At the end he explained that there are even some words that still aren't known, but instead they are guessed based on context. One of the biggest points that I enjoyed in this chapter was how the author stated that if you were to go to one of the plays back then not only would it be a different experience because of time, but simple words like "employer" was invented by Shakespeare in his plays. I found it amazing how boring the English language was, and how amazing, and detailed he made it. Lets just say that without Shakespeare we wouldn't be talking how we are today. Chapter 3 "The Beast with Two Backs": Chapter three is definitely the most inappropriate of all, but it brings up very interesting points. Such as we will never be able to make a theater like the originals, because of the fact that the atmosphere was so different (and mostly so gross people nowadays wouldn't dare to participate). It overall talks about how Shakespeare changed our "sex life." It brought up some things in Romeo, and Juliet that were very questionable. The chapter also touches on the fact that women roles in the plays were played by males (probably for the better). I don't want to go into too much detail because this chapter really brings out the bad, and dirty things that were in Shakespeare's mind. This chapter made me second guess if he is really someone we should be looking up to as a "hero." I will be commenting on Elisabeth's, and Angeline's, and Alex's Blog's. The New York Times Jan. 12 2018 (Why Is South Korea Spooking the Global Bitcoin Market?) By: Su-Hyun Lee and Raymond Zhong This article is about the bitcoin market. This article explains why South Korea made the decision to ban cryptocurrencies, and blockchain in general. Overall this article explains South Korea’s viewpoint on the issue of privacy and digital currencies. The recent event of the bitcoin crash not only affected those in Korea, but bankrupted people everywhere. Anyone who at the time had money invested in any cryptocurrency had their savings cut in half. South Korea’s main reason for this pursuit was the fact that not only is bitcoin used for gambling on many websites, but it is a tax free way to exchange money. Therefore it makes it a very easy for drug lords to make big money exchanges without using the government for the transaction at all. At the same time it is an amazing currency for everyone to use because of the fact that there is no middle man. That means that you are in charge of sending the money, no one can take money from your “Wallet” only you can send it. It is in many ways very similar to the popular app, and website PayPal. This event took place in South Korea on January 12, 2018 This took place because South Korea wants to be in control, and they don’t have the ability to tax cryptocurrencies. My personal opinion on this event is that cryptocurrencies are going to be the future of money, because you can use it anywhere without transaction fees. Not only is it universal but bitcoin specifically is community driven there isn’t one specific person who runs it. There are instead teams around the globe that are the main people who sell/buy it. The official person who made it went silent very soon after he made the coin. Overall my opinion on this instance I think is just a buffer in the increase of cryptocurrencies and that they will still rise above any other currency. I am now off to comment on Sophia's and Angeline's blog posts.
